Bhadohi: TheUttar Pradeshhealth department on Thursday cancelled the registrations of two eye hospitals inBhadohi district after they were found fraudently operating using the medical degree and registration details of a Varanasi-based ophthalmologist fraudulently, without his consent, officials said. The matter came to light following a complaint filed by Dr Gaurav Agarwal, an eye surgeon who runs Vardan Netralaya in Varanasi. Agarwal alleged that when he attempted to renew his hospital’s registration, he found that his credentials were already being used to operate two separate hospitals in Bhadohi – Manish Hospital and Nisha Clinic, news agency PTI reported. The CMO said that the two establishments were illegally conducting eye treatments and surgeries under fake credentials, potentially endangering patients’ health. In response, notices have been issued to the hospital operators seeking an explanation on how they were runningeye clinicswithout proper qualifications. Chak also said that FIRs will be lodged against those running these hospitals using forged documents and violating medical regulations under serious penal provisions. had earlier reported that in a disturbing case of alleged medical negligence, a 30-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri reportedly walked into the District Magistrate’s office carrying a handbag containing the body of his newborn child. The newborn reportedly died in the mother's womb due to alleged denial of treatment at a private hospital. Inside the office, the man broke down in tears and pleaded with officials to bring his child back. He claimed that the hospital staff refused to treat his wife after he paid part of the fees and promised to pay the remaining amount after the procedure.
