SKIMS Cancels 2nd Half Of Winter Vacation, All Kinds Of Leaves Of Doctors, Faculty Members

Srinagar: The S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) on Tuesday announced the cancellation of the second half of winter vacations and other kinds of leave of all the faculty members.
A Public Relations Officer (PRO) of SKIMS said that in pursuance to Government order no. 249-GAD of 2019, dated: 22.02.2019, the 2nd half of winter vacation sanctioned vide office order no. SIMS 1391 (per) of 2018, dated: 31.12.2018, is hereby cancelled.

Director SKIMS & EOSG directed all the faculty members that they shall report to their duties by today 26 th February 2019 positively and shall remain available at their place of posting with effect from 26.02.2019.
Further, leave of any kind sanctioned to the staff members of SKIMS (except leave sanctioned on medical grounds, Child Care Leave or for Study purpose) shall also stand cancelled, the PRO said.
However, no reason was given for cancellation of winter vacation and leave. But, official sources said, the leave and winter vacation has been cancelled in view of the prevailing security situation in the valley, where more paramilitary forces were pumped and security and other facilities of separatists were withdrawn after Pulwama fidayeen attack in which 44 CRPF personnel were killed.

However, government administration made it clear that deployment of more security forces was for conducting Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state.
