Shivamogga:In a shocking incident, a governmentdoctorhas been booked along with five others in connection with a foeticide case involving a minor girl in Shivamogga district. Police have arrested one youth in connection with the case. According to the news reports, the doctor allegedly performed an illegal abortion on a minor girl at a private hospital after she became pregnant following asexual assault. The minor’s parents reportedly sought the youth’s assistance to terminate the pregnancy. The police have also registered a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case in connection with the assault, which was filed in late September, officials confirmed.
