NMC Alerts Medical Colleges Against Fake Recognition Letter Trap For PG Medical Courses

Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice through its Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB), cautioning medical colleges against the circulation of counterfeit letters of Recognition and Renewal of Recognition for PG Courses.
The apex medical regulatory body urged cooperation from all stakeholders to help curb the spread of misinformation and maintain the integrity of the recognition process for Post Graduate Medical Courses
The issue came to light after several medical colleges reported the reception of these fraudulent letters bearing the forged signature of Dr Vijay Oza, the President of PGMEB.
To ensure the legitimacy of Recognition and Renewal of Recognition letters, NMC, in its notice underscored that all official communications are exclusively dispatched through a dedicated email channel: pqweb.recognition@nmc.org.in. Additionally, hard copies of these letters are sent through the traditional method of speed post.

In light of this concerning development, the notice served as a critical advisory to all stakeholders, especially medical colleges. Stakeholders have been strongly advised not to be deceived by any such fraudulent letters if they do not originate from the specified email address and are not dispatched through post from the NMC. Any doubts or uncertainties should be promptly addressed by contacting PGMEB, NMC, to prevent falling victim to deceptive practices, the notice further alerted. The notice read;
"It is hereby informed that all the letters of Recognition/ Renewal of Recognition are sent through a dedicated email i.e. pq web.recognition@nmc.org.in in addition to dispatch of the letter(s) through speed post. All the stakeholders including Medical Colleges are hereby advised to not to fall in trap of any such fake letter(s) of Recognition/Renewal of Recognition if the saine is not received through dedicated email from PGMEB, NTSC as well as by Post from NMC. In case of any doubt same may please be confirmed from PGMEB, NMC."
