NEET 2020 Results: Check Out Analysis, Percentile Cut-Offs

New Delhi: After releasing the results of the prestigious MBBS and BDS entrance exam, NEET 2020, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has now published the in detail analysis of the NEET.
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET is the gateway to MBBS and BDS admissions in the country. The students who intend to pursue MBBS and BDS in India need to qualify the mandatory test.
The result of the NEET 2020 was announced on October 16th with over 7.7 lakh candidates qualifying the exam. An All India merit list has been prepared in percentile determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses as per Para V (II), Chapter II of Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued under Medical Council of India Act & Dental Council of India Act.
15,97,435 candidates had registered for the exam, 13,66,945 were present taking the percentage to 85.57 per cent and 2,30,490 candidates were absent during the NEET 2020 exam.
The NEET was conducted across 3,862 centres in 155 cities. The exam was held in 11 languages. As many as 2,66,240 invigilators and over 5818 observers, 9680 Deputy centre superintendent, 195 city coordinators were involved in conducting the test.
Of the 6,18,075 male candidates who took the exam, 3,43,556 cleared it, while of the 7,48,866 female candidates, 4,27,943 qualified. Of the 4 transgender candidates who appeared in the exam, 1 cleared it.
NEET 2020 Cutoff Percentile

Percentile stands for a number where a certain percentage of scores fall below that specific number. Hence, it relies on the candidates' performance when compared to the performance of others. For example, if the NEET Cut off is 50th percentile for particular category candidates, a candidate is required to score more than 50% of candidates belonging to that category.
General with 50th Percentile - 720-147
Unreserved - Physically Handicapped (UR PH) and EWS with 45th Percentile- 146-129
Scheduled Caste (SC) with 40th Percentile is 146-113
Scheduled Tribe (ST) with 40th Percentile is 146-113
Other Backward Classes (OBC) with 40th Percentile is 146-113
SC PH with 40th Percentile is 128-113
ST PH with 40th Percentile is 128-113
OBC PH with 40th Percentile 128-113
Qualified candidates:

The maximum number of qualified candidates are from the state of UP with 88889 NEET 2020 qualified followed by Maharashtra with 79974 and Rajasthan with 65758.
Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka follow the list of topper states with 59404, 57215 and 55009 candidates.
46327 aspirants qualified NEET from Bihar this year. 33841 from Andhra Pradesh. 23554 candidates from Delhi. 36398 from Gujarat and 22395 from Haryana.
20654 aspirants from Odisha passed NEET 2020 while 28093 from Telangana and 37301 candidates from West Bengal passed the test.
Assam has 11052 qualifiers, Chhattisgarh has 12792, J&K has 14743, Jharkhand has 10811 and Punjab has 8614 qualified candidates of NEET this year.
413 qualified the test from Andaman and Nicobar islands, 1642 from Arunachal Pradesh, 1096 from Chandigarh, 288 from Dadra and Nagar Haveli, 144 from Daman and Diu, 1582 from Goa, 7622 from Himachal, 105 from Lakshadweep, 3548 from Manipur, 587 from Mizoram, 731 from Nagaland, 2362 from Puducherry, 317 from Sikkim, 1738 from Tripura, 7323 from Uttarakhand, 367 from Ladakh and 699 from others.
Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act (NMC Act), 2019 provides for holding of a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions including those governed under any other law. Thus, admission to MBBS course in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) and all AIIMS like Institutions will also be made through NEET (UG) (NMC Act, 2019).
Mentioned below are the in detail analysis NEET 2020:
1. Admissions to all seats of Undergraduate Medical Courses will be done through NEET (UG) - 2020. Category of seats to be filled through NEET (UG)-2020 are
• All India Quota Seats
• State Government Quota Seats
• Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities
• State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Dental /Ayurveda /Siddha /Unani /Homeopathy Colleges or any Private University
• State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical/ Dental Colleges or any Private/ Deemed University
• Central Pool Quota Seats
• All seats including NRI Quota as well as Management Quota, in private unaided/aided minority / non- minority medical colleges
(a) Indian Citizens/Overseas Citizens of India intending to pursue Undergraduate Medical Courses from a foreign (Medical/Dental/Ayurveda/Siddha/Unani/Homeopathy) Institute need to qualify NEET (UG) - 2020.
(b) The Counselling for successful candidates under 15% All India Quota seats and all seats of Deemed Universities/Central Universities/Seats of Employees' State Insurance Corporation(ESIC) & AFMC including Delhi University (DU), BHU, AMU, and AIIMS& JIPMER will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee of Directorate General of Health Services, Govt. of India(MCC/DGHS) for Undergraduate Medical Courses. The counselling for admission to the seats under the control of other States/Universities/Institutions shall be conducted as per the notifications issued separately by the authorities concerned.
(c) The result of NEET (UG) - 2020 may be utilized by other entities of Central/State Governments for admission purpose in accordance with their rules.
(d) During counselling, the eligibility criteria, self-declaration, various documents, etc. of the eligible candidates shall be verified as per norms specified by the respective authorities and/or Medical/Dental/Ayurveda/Siddha/Unani/Homeopathy Colleges. NTA does not have any responsibility towards correctness/genuinity of the uploaded information/documents during the application process.

11. Information regarding 15% All India Quota Seats:
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India will conduct the Counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, Seats of ESIC and AFMC, BHU & AMU. Candidates may visit website www.mcc.nic.in for further information. Candidates will apply for 15% All India Quota seats as per the directions of DGHS and Counselling will be stopped once the seats are exhausted.
The details and schedule of counselling would be available on the websites of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Directorates of States.
12. Information regarding State Quota Seats:
For State quota and other seats falling under the ambit of States, candidates may apply to their domicile states and merit list as per State rules and based on All India Rank will be prepared by concerned Counselling Authorities. The counselling for Private Medical Colleges will also be conducted by the concerned State Counselling Authority.
Candidates are advised to be in touch with the respective Counselling Authorities and Institutions concerned for further details.
The responsibility of NTA is to conduct the examination and declare the result based on eligibility criteria provided by MCI. Candidates submitted their category as per National Category List and based on the same the result has been declared.NTA has provided All India Rank to the candidates and the admitting Authorities will draw merit list based on All India Rank for the seats of MBBS/BDS falling under their jurisdiction. When candidates apply to their State, they will mention their category as per State Category List. State Counselling Authorities will accordingly make their Merit List. The same is the case with the domicile. The NTA has no role in it and no change in any data will be made by the NTA.
The NEET (UG) is one of the most sensitive examinations, this year, NTA made elaborate arrangements at various levels and took help from State Authorities for smooth conduct of examination.
To make the candidates and their parents aware about the rules and regulations of the examination, candidates were sent various messages (SMS) on their registered mobile.SMS was also sent to all the candidates to download "Important Advisory for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-UG 2020" along with the Admit Card.
NTA has adopted a transparent system wherein the scanned copy of OMR's of all the candidates, their responses, Answer Key and Booklet Code was hosted on website in the candidate's login accounts. Candidates were allowed to make challenges. Challenges received by NTA were duly addressed before preparation of result.
The Result of NEET-UG, 2020 has been declared on the basis of the qualifying criteria prescribed by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India and also based on the information submitted by the candidates in their online application forms.
The qualified candidates may please note that they have to further complete the formalities with the respective Counselling Authorities viz DGHS, Medical Education Directorates of States, etc. for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.
The details and schedule of counselling would be available on the websites of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education Directorates of States as applicable. The details of Medical Education
Directorate of States are given in Appendix-IV of the Information Bulletin available on NEET website. The counselling would be conducted by the respective Counselling Authorities subject to prevailing rules and norms for admission in Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges under their ambit. Candidates are advised to be in touch with the respective Counselling Authorities and Institutions concerned for further details.
