As per a recent media report by the Times of India, the doctor was in his early 40's and he ran a hospital in Dindoshi. During the pandemic, the doctor was living separately in a flat to ensure the safety of his wife and child as there was a high risk of contagion for the doctor.
According to the daily, the doctor had applied for a loan and he was facing financial problems.
On Friday, his wife called to check on him at the hospital and the doctor informed her that he was suffering from a severe headache after which he left. The next day his wife could not contact him via phone. Hence, she visited his hospital also but she could not find him there as well. She ultimately visited his flat finding the doctor lying dead on his bed and also spotted a syringe nearby, reports the daily.
The police were informed immediately. The police investigated the matter but no suicide letter was found. Dindoshi police have already sent the body for postmortem. Police stated that the syringe has been purchased by the doctor recently.
Last year a similar incident was reported by where a doctor pursuing PG Anaesthesia from the well-known Madurai Medical College allegedly committed suicide by injecting poison at his rented flat in the city recently. The doctor was allegedly depressed for the past few days which allegedly drove him to take the drastic step. After reaching the flat of the deceased medico, the police reportedly recovered an empty syringe and medicine bottles, besides a suicide note from the room.
