Andhra Pradesh - Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) Admissions 2024-25

Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) has started the admission process for MBBS and BDS courses under the competent authority quota for the academic year 2024-25. An information brochure detailing the counselling procedure for admission into MBBS and BDS has been released.

Through the information brochure, NTRUHS has detailed the eligibility, fee structure, and other details of the Phase I, II, and III counselling. Below are the details:

Eligibility

• The candidates who secured the cut-off marks or more in the NEET-UG 2024 and fulfilled the following criteria for admission into MBBS/BDS courses are eligible to submit their online application by paying the non-refundable application and processing fee online and uploading the scanned certificates/documents required for competent authority quota seats.
• The candidates should secure the following cutoff scores in the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Educational Qualifications

The candidate should have passed Intermediate (10+2 pattern) or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/ Biotechnology and English.

Age Limit

The candidate should complete 17 years of age as on 31-12-2024. The candidates who do not complete 17 years as on 31-12-2024 are not eligible.

Phase-I Counselling Procedure

• PwBD seat will be allotted to all the eligible PwBD candidates (by NEET merit list) who are found in the final merit position displayed by the University based on the NEET UG All India Rank duly implementing horizontal reservation and GO.550 and its amendments.
• The unfilled PwBD seats, if any, will be converted as Non-PwBD seats and added to the respective categories.
• While allotting seats in an institution, the order of priority for allotment is:
  • OC / F / APUR
  • OC / G / APUR
  • OC / F / L
  • OC / G / L
  • OC/F/EWS
  • OC/G/EWS
• Meanwhile, the order of priority for allotment in Govt. Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada (SMCV), which is a state-wide institution, is as follows:
  • OC / F / APUR
  • OC / G / APUR
  • OC/F/APL
  • OC/G/APL
  • OC / F / L
  • OC / G / L
  • OC/F/EWS
  • OC/G/EWS
• Open seats will be allotted by merit. All candidates (OC, BC, SC, ST including minority & special categories) are eligible for open seats in the order of NEET merit.
• In the open round EWS and Minority seats will also be allotted.
• Only Open category students (Other than SC/ST/BC) with EWS reservation as per merit list will be allowed/Eligible for EWS Seats. EWS candidates will be initially exposed to Open seats followed by EWS Seats. If there are both Open and EWS seats in the same college, the candidate will be allotted an open seat only.
• Only Minority students as per the merit list will be allowed/Eligible for Minority Seats till the last phase before converting as Non-Minority if the Minority list is exhausted.
• Minority candidates will also be allowed for open seats according to their merit and options.
• Category candidates who are allotted open seats in the open round are MRCs (Meritorious Reserved candidates) including Special Categories as per GO.550 and its Amendments.
• Category seats are filled by merit for which all category students are eligible for their respective category seats. Sliding of MRC candidates to a better option in the category round will be implemented as per the rules.
• The seat vacated by an MRC assumes the nature of the seat, the MRC recently occupied while retaining the General / Female and Local / APL/ APUR nature of the vacated seat. This rule will not apply to Minority Institutions.

Phase-II Counselling Procedure

• Phase–II counselling will be conducted with one-time options that were already opted by the candidate before Phase -I counselling.
• Blocking of the candidates will be done as per the guidelines/information to be provided by the MCC, DGHS/NMC/DCI before the commencement of the counselling.
• In phase II, the following seats are filled:
  • unfilled seat from phase I (including minority seats), if any.
  • vacancies arising due to non-joining.
• Eligible candidates will be considered with one-time options that were already obtained before Phase-I -I counselling
• Non-reported PwBD seats will be first exposed to PwBD candidates before identifying the seats as Non-PwBD in the respective category, with MRC rules as applicable.
• If an MRC candidate who has slid to a category seat did not report after Phase-I, that seat is shown in open with gender and area reservation as applicable.
• If a category candidate did not report to an MRC vacated open seat, that seat is shown to the same category with gender and area reservation as applicable.
• If an open candidate did not report, the seat is shown in open with gender and area reservation as applicable.
• All vacancies (open & category) will be exposed to all the eligible candidates.
• Category candidates who are allotted an open seat are MRCs (Meritorious Reserved candidates) including Special Categories.
• The seat vacated by an MRC assumes the nature of the seat the MRC recently occupies.
• If any special category candidate (PwBD, NCC, Sports, CAP, PMC and Scouts & Guides) vacates an Open seat of Phase -I and slides to a Special Category Seat (PwBD, NCC, Sports, CAP, PMC and Scouts & Guides), the vacated open seat will be filled based on merit (OC/SC/ST/BC) in this Phase itself.
• If any special category candidate (PwBD, NCC, Sports, CAP, PMC and Scouts & Guides) vacates a category seat of Phase -I and slides to Special Category Seat (PwBD, NCC, Sports, CAP, PMC and Scouts & Guides), the vacated category seat will be filled with the corresponding category (SC/ST/BC) based on merit in this Phase itself.
• Though a candidate has opted to retain under Phase-I counselling, default sliding within the same college, from local to APL / APUR, General to Female, EWS to open and Category to Open, will be allowed within the same college.
• Students who have already paid the University fee in Phase -I need not pay again if the seat is allotted in Phase II, but students should download the allotment order if there is a change of seat/college in Phase II & report.
• Candidates upgraded in Phase-II must take relief from Phase-I seat and report physically in the allotted college of Phase-II seat along with Custodian certificate of originals(within Andhra Pradesh state Quota only).
• Candidates getting upgraded in Phase-II of Counselling will NOT have any claim on previous allotments i.e. Phase-I seat as the vacancies resulting from upgradation are filled within this phase by the next candidate in the merit list with rules of reservation as applicable.
• Candidates who got fresh admission under Phase II must report physically at the allotted college along with all relevant original certificates.
• The original certificates will be verified at the college and in case of any discrepancy the provisional allotment will be cancelled and action will be initiated as per university regulations.

Phase-II (Mop-up Round) Counselling Procedure

• The Phase- III (Mop-up Round) of counselling will be conducted for the unfilled seats in Phase II and vacancies which are available due to the non-joining of allotted candidates in Phase–II. Vacancies will be notified on the University website.
• Eligible candidates will be considered with one-time options that were already opted by the candidates before Phase-I counselling.
• The allotted candidates up to Phase-III (Mop-up round) counselling under this Phase will not be permitted to upgrade in any counselling including Special Category seats, even if not done earlier and also the Management Quota.
• The candidates joined up to round 3 under All India Quota and found in the list shared by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), DGHS, New Delhi are not eligible for Phase-III (Mopup round) counselling under Dr. NTR UHS.
• Candidates who are allotted seat in Phase-III (Mop-up round) of counselling have to report to the allotted college compulsorily with all original certificates, provisional allotment order and provisional verification copy and pay the tuition fee and college fee and cannot resign the seat allotted.
• Candidates getting upgraded in Phase-III of Counselling will NOT have any claim on previous allotments i.e. Phase-I seat or Phase-II seat as the vacancies resulting from upgradation are filled within this phase by the next candidate in the merit list with rules of reservation as applicable.
• Any candidate allotted a seat under Phase-III (Mop-up) of Counselling and does not join, he/she will not be eligible for further rounds.
• Candidates upgraded in Phase-III (Mop-up round) must take relief from Phase-II seat and report physically in the allotted college of Phase-III (Mop-Up round) seat along with Custodian certificate of originals.
• Candidates who got fresh admission under Phase-III (Mop-up Round) must report physically at the allotted college along with all relevant original certificates.
• The original certificates will be verified at the college and in case of any discrepancy the provisional allotment will be cancelled and action will be initiated as per university regulations.
• No candidate is permitted to withdraw from the course till the closure of the admissions.

Stray Vacancy Round Counselling Procedure

• Subject to availability of seats, if any, the Stray Vacancy Round of Counselling will be conducted as per the schedule notified by the University. Vacancies, if any will be notified on the University website.
• All the available seats against the Stray Vacancy Round will be filled through online mode only.
• Depending upon the vacancies, the Stray Vacancy Round can be completed in Multiple Runs duly adhering to the MCC schedule.
• Eligible candidates will be considered with one-time options that were already opted by the candidates before Phase-I counselling.
• Vacancies (open & category) will be exposed to all the eligible candidates as per Merit and options.
• Candidates who are allotted seats against the Stray Vacancy Round of counselling have to report to the allotted college compulsorily with all original certificates, provisional allotment order and provisional verification copy and pay the tuition fee and college fee and cannot resign the seat allotted.
• No candidate is permitted to withdraw from the course till the closure of the admissions.
