Gurugram: Successful management of patients with hematologic malignancies depends upon accurate and timely diagnosis, which frequently requires integration and interpretation of multiple tests like morphologic examination of peripheral blood, bone marrow aspirate, and bone marrow biopsy specimens.
In a country where 80% of cancers are detected only at Stage 4, accurate and timely diagnosis is critical for a positive outcome.
Fortis and SRL are committed to this, and keeping the commitment SRL in collaboration with Dr Rahul Bhargava, Director, Institute of Blood disorders, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, conducted the first 'Hematopathology Update and Workshop' at FMRI on Fortis and SRL on April 27th, 2019,
While speaking to Dr. Rahul Bhargava told "Hematopathology is a new branch. As we are progressing morphology still remains the gateway for early and correct diagnosis. This meeting was a beginning of series to develop expertise in morphology and helping the country with early diagnosis". "1849 Virchow has said think microscopically and 2019 we have give a new mantra think morphologically in today’s era" he adds.
The program essentially focuses on the importance of these diagnostic modalities for early diagnosis and better patient outcomes.
It was inaugurated by Mr Arindam Halder, CEO of SRL, along with Dr B. Keshav Rao, Head MOG, Fortis Healthcare.
