Kolkata: BHMS Admission Bond Requirement

The medical students willing to pursue Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) courses from the Government institutes in West Bengal are now required to execute a bond of Rs 1 lakh prior to the admission to the course.

Announcing this decision, the AYUSH branch of West Bengal State Health and Family Welfare Department recently wrote to the Director of Homoeopathy in this regard.

This Rupees one lakh bond is now mandatory for all the students who will take admission in the Government Homoeopathic Medical colleges in Kolkata, Howrah and Midnapore. The students will have to execute a notarized bond before taking admission to these colleges under WBUHS through the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Examination (NEET).

Writing to the Homoeopathy Director, the Special Secretary (AYUSH), Health and Family Welfare Department mentioned in a letter dated November 25, 2022, "The undersigned is directed to inform that from the current session (2022-2023) onwards all the candidates willing to get admission in Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) courses in 4 (Four) Government Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital namely:

• The Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata
• D.N.De Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata
• Mahesh Bhattacharyya Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Howrah
• Midnapore Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Midnapore

under W.B.U.H.S through All India NEET examination have to execute a Notarized Bond amounting Rs 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) only, the amount shall be required to be paid as penalty to the concerned college, if they discontinue the course before completion of the tenure of the course prescribed by the Government, in order to get back the original documents and release from the concerned college."

A copy of the letter has been forwarded to the D.M.E and D.H.S of the West Bengal State Health and Family Welfare Department.
