Doctor Pursing PG Neurosurgery At SMS Jaipur Allegedly Attempts Suicide At Hospital By Injecting Sedatives

Jaipur: In a recent case of alleged suicide attempt, a resident doctor at Sawai Man Singh Medical College and Hospital (SMS Hospital) was found unconscious with injections of sedatives in a ward's washroom. According to hospital authorities, this is not the first time that the doctor has been found in such circumstances; he was earlier saved twice within a month by hospital staff.
The doctor is identified to be a resident doctor pursuing post graduation in Neurosurgery from the medical institute. The reason behind his alleged suicide attempt is not ascertained yet.
TOI reports about the incident which took place February 5th. Around 9.30 AM that day, the doctor went missing from the neurosurgery ward, where he was posted for duty. After searching for him for more than an hour, the hospital staff found him lying unconscious in a washroom of the neighbouring ward. He was immediately rushed to neurosurgery ICU and was put on ventilator support following which the doctors resuscitated him.

The condition of the PG medico improved and is currently stable. Speaking to TOI, Dr DS Meena, Medical Superintendent at SMS Hospital, informed that it is not for the first time he has been found in such a situation. According to hospital sources, he was found unconscious on last month and at that time the doctors thought that he might have had seizures. Then as well, he was admitted to ICU.

had earlier reported about a case wherein a medical practitioner in Bengaluru had injected a fatal dose of diabetic medicine to his mother and sister before attempting to kill himself.
