Chandigarh: Fraudster Posing As PGIMER Director Attempts To Dupe Retired Doctor
Chandigarh: In a case of fraud, a retired doctor has been cheated by a person who used the PGI director's photo as the Whatsapp display picture and attempted to dupe him using that.
The doctor has been identified as a resident of Sector 4, Panchkula. An unknown person has been booked by the UT police in connection with the case, reports the Tribune India.

As per a media report in the Times of India, the police complaint given by the doctor states, "On May 17, I received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number, which had displayed the picture of PGI director Vivek Lal. The message sender demanded e-vouchers of Amazon."
However, the doctor grew suspicious. He subsequently, cross-checked the number given by the accused with the number of the PGI director. He found out that the numbers were different. He then eventually blocked the unknown number.
The doctor then filed a complaint with the UT police cyber cell, following which the latter registered a case against the accused, reports the TOI.
