Guntur: While participating in the hoisting of the national flag on the 76th Independence Day at Police Parade Grounds in Guntur, the District in-charge Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao observed that the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had launched the family doctor system to provide better medical services at the doorsteps of the people.

The minister said that the government had filled 196 vacant doctors' posts and 653 other posts in the medical and health department. He added that the government had also developed the infrastructure in various hospitals.

Further, he observed that nearly 22 lakh persons were administered vaccines by the doctors as a precautionary measure because of the Covid-19 pandemic, reports Hans India.

The minister also made other announcements regarding the government educational institutions and other schemes like the Jagananna Vidya Deevena schemes. The programme saw the participation of District Collector M Venugopal Reddy, SP K Arif Hafeez, and officials of various government departments. In addition, Palnadu District Collector Siva Sankar, SP Ravisankar Reddy, MLA Dr Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy, and officials of various government departments were also present.

The national flag was hoisted by the Palnadu district in-charge Minister Karumuru Nageswara Rao, who received a guard of honour from the police. He observed that the CM had created new districts to render better services to people and added that he was happy to participate in the Independence Day celebrations of the Palnadu district. He also said that a medical college was already under construction, and noted that the government has taken up various works for developing the newly formed district.
