Shamli: Two private clinics were sealed by the Uttar Pradesh Health Department in Shamli following the death of a newborn baby due to the alleged negligence by an untrained doctor in one of the clinics.
Following the death of the baby, a surprise inspection by the Assistant chief medical officer revealed that the doctor does not have a medical degree.

Mohd Aiyyab, a resident of Bibipur Hatia village went to the Aayat Child Clinic in Kairana to seek treatment for his newborn.
The doctor was reportedly untrained and was unable to deal with the infant's breathing issues, following which the baby was referred to Panipat for specialized medical care.
As per a media report in the Times of India, the doctor gave them an oxygen cylinder tank for a fee of Rs 900. The oxygen supply ran out while they were travelling to the Panipat hospital where the baby was referred for specialised care. The newborn unfortunately passed away.
The parties are reported to have reached an agreement after the incident became known. The chief medical officer Sanjay Agrawal instructed Assistant Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) Vinod Kumar to take action against the unqualified medical practitioner.
Kumar inspected the clinic and went through the documents of the child. He found that the doctor had no medical degree, following which the clinic was immediately sealed.
Kumar also inspected another private clinic, Malik Child Care Centre in Kairana where the doctor failed to produce a valid medical degree and the centre was subsequently sealed.

While investigating the clinic, the officials and the police team discovered that the clinic had no valid registration certificate that could verify the authenticity of the clinic, and the quack also failed to produce a legal medical degree to claim himself as a doctor during the raid
