This Is Just To Create Sensation: SC Junks PIL Alleging Covid Vaccine Side Effects

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition that claimed COVID-19 vaccines caused adverse effects such as blood clotting.
The bench, led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, rejected the plea, deeming it a mere attempt to create a sensation. The petition, filed by Priya Mishra and others, challenged the alleged side effects of COVID vaccines.
PTI reports that the court questioned the potential consequences of not receiving the vaccine, emphasizing the need for evidence-based claims. They urged the petitioners to file a class action suit if they had concrete evidence of harm. The bench said;
"File a class action suit! What is the use of this? Please also understand what would be the side-effect if you did not take the vaccine. We do not want to rake this up, this is just to create a sensation."

The court also expressed skepticism about the petition's purpose, inquiring whether the petitioner's lawyer had taken the vaccine himself. The lawyer confirmed vaccination without experiencing any side effects, reports TOI.
