Sex Ratio In Haryana Has Crossed 900 Mark: Anil Vij

Chandigarh: The number of girls per 1000 boys has crossed the 900 mark in Haryana, a remarkable achievement for the state known for its skewed sex ratio, this was informed by state Health Minister Anil Vij.

Vij said government is also making efforts to deploy one doctor per 1,000 persons as compare one doctor per 1,700 persons in the state.



He was speaking at the Pravasi Haryana Divas in Gurugram.

The Minister urged the Pravasi Haryanvis to deepen their connection with their roots by investing in Haryana in the fields of health and education.

There has been 20 per cent increase in number of patients availing OPD facility, and improvement in sex ratio at birth, which has crossed the 900-mark, Vij said in an official statement.

At the same event, state Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that 24 agreements involving potential investment of Rs 20,000 crore have been signed during Pravasi Haryana Divas celebrations.

He added that these would provide employment to 43000 persons in the state. And as many as 23 Pravasi Haryanvis have offered to invest Rs 17 crore in various philanthropic works.
