Self Assessment Forms, Compliance Report Required As Per PGMER 2000: NMC Gives Deadline Medical Colleges For Re-Submission

New Delhi: Clarifying that the Self Assessment Forms (SAF) and the compliance reports are required as per the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulation (PGMER) 2000 and the Establishment of Medical Institutions, Assessment and Rating Regulations, 2023 and other criteria earlier specified by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) has asked the medical colleges to resubmit data within seven days.
NMC MARB issued these directions on April 10, 2024, after noting that several medical colleges while submitting applications for starting of PG medical courses or increasing existing PG seats had submitted the SAF and compliance report as per the Minimum Standard of Requirements for Postgraduate Courses-2023 (PGMSR 2023) dated 15th January 2024.
Referring to this, MARB mentioned in the notice issued yesterday, "While processing the applications for starting of new PG medical courses and increase in existing PG seats for the Academic Year-2024-25, it has been observed that several medical institutions/colleges have submitted the SAF and compliance report as per Minimum Standard of Requirements for Postgraduate Courses-2023 (PGMSR2023) dated 15th January 2024. They were required to submit these documents as per PG-Medical Education Regulation 2000 dated 22nd August 2000, Establishment of Medical Institutions, Assessment and Rating Regulations, 2023 dated 2nd June, 2023, and criteria mentioned in public notice for inviting applications on NMC website dated 16th August 2023."
Therefore, the Commission has now granted a new 7-day deadline to the medical colleges to resubmit the SAF and compliance report as per PGMER 2000, Establishment of Medical Institutions, Assessment and Rating Regulations, 2023 dated 2nd June, 2023, and criteria mentioned in public notice for inviting applications on NMC website dated 16th August 2023.

"In view of above facts, all the medical colleges/institutions concerned, who have submitted the SAF as per PGMSR 2023, are requested to re-submit the duly filled and signed Self-Assessment Forms (internal assessment by College) as per PG-Medical Education Regulation 2000 along with compliance reports within seven days of publication of this notice on authorized emails of MARB," the Commission mentioned in the notice.
had earlier reported that MARB received a total of 1675 applications including 1010 applications for the start of PG courses and 665 applications for the increase of PG seats in existing medical colleges for the AY 2024-25.
Among these, NMC through its notice dated 11.04.2024, informed that a total number of 10 institutes had withdrawn their 34 applications for starting and increasing PG medical seats. Through the same notice, NMC informed that it had sent communications in respect of 204 online applications for starting or increase of PG medical seats to the concerned medical institutes for information and necessary action by them within the stipulated timeline.
Again, through other notices, NMC sent communications on more applications. NMC had earlier clarified regarding the communications sent to the concerned applicant colleges and informed that the communications had been sent seeking deficient documents and information along with the submission of sworn affidavit.
