New Delhi: In a major relief to candidates who could not appear for NEET 2020 due to coronavirus restrictions, the Supreme Court has now allowed a plea by the Centre to conduct a fresh NEET on October 14.
With this effect in order, the NTA will release the NEET 2020 results on October 16. The result will be combined for both the attempts.
Confirming the same, the Minister of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, also informed through this Twitter handle that the result will be announced on October 16. He also wished the students who appeared for the medical entrance exams. The result will be available at ntaneet.nic.in. Students will have to enter their roll number mentioned on the admit card to check the result.

A bench of Chief Justice S A Bobde and Justices A S Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian allowed a submission made by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta appearing for the National Testing Agency.
He said the examinations for those candidates who missed the exam would take place on October 14 and the result would be declared on October 16.

"Students, who were unable to sit for NEET because of being Covid positive or in containment zones, will get the opportunity to appear on October 14 and their results will be declared on October 16," Mehta said, quotes Deccan Herald.
Several students could not appear for the exam because of the lockdown restrictions. Over 14.37 lakh candidates had appeared for NEET 2020 while 15.97 lakh had registered for it.
NEET 2020 was recently held on 13.09.2020 (Sunday) from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM. Nearly 90 per cent candidates appeared in the medical entrance exam NEET held at over 3,800 centres across the country on Sunday amid strict precautions in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. Students were allotted different slots for staggered movement to ensure social distancing.
The test was offered in 11 languages - English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu this year. Based on the initial report, more than 77 per cent aspirants took the test in English, around 12 per cent in Hindi and 11 per cent in other languages.
