Punjab To Recruit 460 Medical Officers For Rural Dispensaries

Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa said the state government would soon recruit 460 Medical Officers for which the process has been started. Clear instructions have been issued in this regard to the departmental officers.
Chandigarh, The Punjab government would provide all required facilities to the dispensaries of the rural areas in order to make available top notch healthcare amenities to the inhabitants of rural areas.
Stating this in a statement here on Tuesday, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa said the state government would soon recruit 460 Medical Officers for which the process has been started. Clear instructions have been issued in this regard to the departmental officers.
He said medicines and other necessary paraphernalia would be provided in the rural dispensaries. For this purpose, medicines worth more than Rs 48.30 lakh have been sent to the dispensaries in the rural areas. Apart from this, orders for purchasing Rs 2.58 crore is being placed for the next three months.
Directing the officers of the department, Mr Bajwa said strict vigil be maintained over the process of providing top notch healthcare amenities to the people in the rural area dispensaries. He also directed that the staff of the dispensaries must be punctual and the patients must not face any difficulty.
The Minister also gave directions for preparing a project with regard to transforming the dispensaries situated in the rural areas so as to ensure better facilities to the people.
