Pune COVID Centre Scam: 1 Arrested On Charge Of Cheating PMRDA

Pune: An office-bearer of a hospital management services firm has been arrested from Pune city in Maharashtra in connection with alleged cheating of PMRDA which was given a contract to run a jumbo COVID centre, police said on Sunday.
A case was registered against the accused, Rajiv Salunke, an office-bearer of Life Line Hospital Management Service (LHMS), at Shivajinagar police station for allegedly cheating Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority.

He was arrested on Friday and presented before a local court, which remanded him in police custody till Monday. According to the police officials, Salunke is one of the office-bearers of LHMS.

team had earlier reported that In a cyber fraud case reported in the city, a Mumbai-based doctor and eight others lost around Rs1.5 crore on the pretext of huge returns on cryptocurrency investment. Following this, the city police initiated a probe into the matter and declared the suspect as wanted. The complaint was filed by a 46-year-old medical practitioner from Mulund (East) at the Yerawada police station who has invested around Rs 25 lakh, following which an FIR was registered in connection with the case. According to the police, the suspect had opened a fake office and convinced investors to invest in the cryptocurrency on the pretext of giving huge returns.
