Palliative Foundation Course Launched At SVIMS

Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Executive officer AV Dharma Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated Foundation Course in Palliative Medicine in Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS).
Speaking on the occasion he said, Palliative Medicine is an approach that focuses on improving the quality of life of patients associated with life-threatening illness, especially those suffering from cancer, by imparting them training not only physically and psychosocially, but by spiritual means too.

"Even the near and dear of the patients will also be trained to overcome the trauma during this ten-day workshop", he maintained.
SVIMS Director Dr Vengamma, Medical Superintendent Dr Ram, Radiation Oncologist Dr BV Subramanyan, Vedic Varsity I/c VC Rani Sadasivamurthy were also present.
