Chandigarh: Immunization Coverage Achievements
In a bid to ensure immunization to every child covered under Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 2.0, Nuh (Mewat) and Palwal districts of Haryana have achieved more than 97 per cent coverage.
Sharing the information in this regard, National Health Mission (NHM), Haryana Mission Director Amneet P Kumar on Monday said that these two districts were included for Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 2.0 in the state and in the first month itself, more than 97 per cent children have been vaccinated against the set target.
She said that in Palwal district:
- Children of age group 0-2 years: 6158 children vaccinated against the target of 6190 children (99.48 per cent)
- 1424 pregnant women vaccinated against the target of 1150 pregnant women (123 per cent)
She also informed that a total of 579 sessions were organized against 426 planned sessions. In Nuh (Mewat) district:
- Children of age group 0-2 years: 23498 children vaccinated against the target of 23676 children (99.25 per cent)
- 5122 pregnant women vaccinated against the target of 5264 pregnant women (97.3 per cent)
- A total of 1214 sessions were organized against 1166 planned sessions
Ms Kumar said that IMI 2.0 will be conducted from December 2019-March 2020 and the immunization drive will be spread over seven working days, excluding public holidays, Sundays and the routine immunization days planned in that week.

She also said that a series of activities were undertaken at the state level, line departments were taken into the loop for coordinated activities for social mobilization at district/block/village levels, preparations were monitored and reviewed regularly by district and state level. She said that district level efforts had been really remarkable as all district level functionaries left no stone unturned to achieve desired results.
Meanwhile, Mission Indradhanush (MI) was launched by the central government on December 25, 2014, as a special drive to vaccinate all unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children and all pregnant women by 2020 under the Universal Immunization programme. Last IMI was carried out in December 2018.
