NMC flags incomplete data on DM, MCh admissions 2024, asks students to verify details

New Delhi:The Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of theNational Medical Commission(NMC) has called on all medical colleges and students to verify details of admissions to DM and MCh courses for the academic year 2024-25, following submission of incomplete data from some institutions. "Students who got admission in Post Graduate Medical Education Super Specialty for the Academic Year 2024-25 and their names are not reflected in the list may consult the concerned Directorate of Medical Education/Counselling Authority urgently. All concerned stakeholders are requested to kindly take note of the same for further necessary action," the NMC Also Read:NMC directs medical colleges to participate in surveys under Supreme Court's National Task force on mental health Issuing a notice in this regard, the PG Medical Education Board of NMC, has mentioned in the notice, "The Postgraduate Medical Education Regulation, 2023 outlines the conditions andprocedures for admission to postgraduate medical education through a commoncounselling process. In accordance with these regulations, and following thecompletion of the counselling period, the Post-Graduate Medical Education Board(PGMEB) issued a Public Notice dated 01-1 0-2025, requesting all medical collegesto upload details of students admitted to postgraduate medical courses for theAcademic Year 2024-25 on the NMC portal, no later than 15-10-2025." The Commission noted that despite earlier circulars and reminders, only 3,547 students have been reported as admitted for the current academic year. These details have been uploaded on the NMC portal, accessible to both institutions and students. "It has come to the attention of the Board that some medical colleges have either not uploaded the required student details or have submitted incomplete information. Despite several circulars and public notices, only 3,547 students have been reported as admitted for the Academic Year 2024-25, whose details are available on the NMC Portal." the NMC stated. Students admitted to postgraduate super specialty courses (DM/MCh) for 2024–25 have been asked to check their names in the uploaded list available on the official NMC website. Those whose names are missing have been advised to contact their respective Directorate of Medical Education (DME) or Counselling Authority immediately for resolution. The notice read, "All students admitted to Postgraduate Super Specialty Courses (DM/MCh) for the Academic Year 2024-25 are requested to verify that their names appear in the uploaded list available on the official NMC website. Any student admitted to Super Specialty Postgraduate Medical Courses for the Academic Year 2024-25 whose name does not appear in the uploaded list is advised to immediately contact the respective Directorate of Medical Education or the designated Counselling Authority for resolution."
