New Delhi:Highlighting that many postgraduate medical aspirants are in trouble due to incomplete registration/NRI quota issues because of technical glitches, the doctors have now requested the Union Health Ministry and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to reopen the portal. The doctors' demand comes amid theMedical Counselling Committee (MCC)announcing an extension of the choice filling process for Round 1 ofNEET PG Counsellingfor the academic year 2025 until further notice. had earlier reported that through a notice dated 06.11.2025, MCC has informed all the candidates that the competent authority has decided to extend the Choice Filling of Round-1 of PG Counselling 2025 till further notice, as the seat matrix has to be revised, due to information received from the National Medical Counselling (NMC) for changes in PG seats and the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for withdrawal of 169 PG DNB seats after the start of Round-1 of PG Counselling. Therefore, the MCC of DGHS is in the process of revising the seat matrix in the larger interest of candidates, after removing excess seats and reapplying the roster to maintain the reservation policy. Hence, the Revised Schedule and Seat matrix of Round-1 of All India PG Counselling 2025 will be uploaded shortly on the MCC website. Also, the State PG Counselling schedule will be revised and updated on the MCC website. With the MCC extending the choice filling, UDF has now requested the authorities to address the issues faced by several aspirants facing issues including incomplete registration/NRI quota issues due to technical glitches. In an X post, the National President and Chairperson of theUnited Doctors' Front (UDF), Dr. Lakshya Mittal, mentioned, "As MCC extends #NEETPG choice filling till further notice, but many aspirants still stuck with incomplete registration/NRI quota issues due to technical glitches. Team @UDF_BHARAT requests @MoHFW_INDIA @DGHSIndia to consider there genuine demand & reopen the portal to ensure justice & transparency for all." Commenting on the matter, Dr. Lakshya Mittal told , "We started getting a lot of grievances from students since yesterday regarding the delay in counselling. When the notice was issued yesterday, MCC officials even said that the process will take time because NMC and NBE are adding and removing some seats. Since yesterday, we started receiving requests from several students, who pointed out that when already the choice filling has now been extended, they should get the opportunity to fix the errors made during the registration process." "Several students and aspirants informed us that their registration remained incomplete or they could not send the required documents in time. I think that when the counselling has not even started, they should get a chance to correct those issues and therefore, the portal should be reopened," he added.
