NBE Issues Notice On OBC Reservation In State Surrendered Seats Under All India Quota For NEET PG, NEET MDS 2021

New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has informed about the Reservation to OBC candidates in State surrendered seats under All India Quota for NEET PG 2021 and NEET MDS 2021.
Pursuant to the directions received from the MoHFW, Govt of India, the NBE informs all concerned medicos and various stakeholders as under:
Last year, the Hon'ble High Court of Madras vide Order dated 27.07.2020 in WP No. 8324 of 2020 directed that a committee comprising the representatives of Directorate General of Health Services, Government of Tamil Nadu, erstwhile Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India be constituted for providing the terms of implementation of OBC reservation in All India Quota Scheme for MBBS/PG admission from next academic session i.e., 2021-22.
The Committee constituted in pursuance of the directions of the Hon'ble High Court of Madras has submitted its Report to the Central Government. After considering the Report, the Central Government has decided to place the report of the Committee before the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Writ Petition No. 596/2015 titled Saloni Kumar & Anr. Vs. DGHS, wherein the issue as regards implementation of 27% reservation in favour of candidates belonging to OBCs in All India Quota seats is pending, along with the stand of the Union of India to apply State specific reservation for OBCs in All India Quota, for final adjudication of the matter.
Therefore, it has now been brought to the notice of all concerned that reservation to OBC candidates in State surrendered seats under All India Quota from the academic session 2021-22 shall be subject to outcome of the case pending before the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Writ Petition No. 596 of 2015.
