Mumbai: A 32-year old doctor associated with a Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC)-run hospital has been arrested by Vashi police on account of alleged sexual harassment at workplace of a 25-year old intern.
The accused doctor was posted as a senior resident doctor at the civic hospital for the last six months. Earlier, he had worked at the same medical college in Navi Mumbai where the complainant intern is a student.
The medical student from Terna medical college, Nerul joined the civic hospital for a one-month internship. She alleged that the doctor had molested her by taking her for a walk in a nearby jogger's park.
The intern further alleged that the accused offered her beer which she refused to take. He consumed the beer alone and tried to kiss her. Feeling offended, the complainant returned to NMMC hospital.
