MUHS Issues Notice On Finalizing Seat Matrix Chart For Dental Colleges For 2023-24

Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has issued a notification about finalizing the seat matrix chart subject-wise for admitting students in dental colleges for the academic year 2023-24.

The admission process of Postgraduate MDS courses will commence soon by the Admission Regulatory Authority (ARA) for the Academic Year 2023-24. The University needs to submit the seat matrix of all colleges by 25th March 2023 to their office.

The seat matrix chart for the academic year 2023-24 will be verified meticulously by the college and submitted by e-mail (academicdental@muhs.ac.in) and by speed post to the University, duly signed by the Dean/Principal of the College, positively by 10.3.2023. In case it is found later that the college submits incorrect information, strict action will be initiated by the University against such colleges. The onus of excess admission will entirely rest with the respective college.

Guidelines for Seat Matrix Chart

The following guidelines have been issued related to the seat matrix chart related to Intake Capacity as sanctioned by the Dental Council of India as well as fill-up information under Status of Council (Recognized / Permitted Seats) & Max Seats Permitted as per Teacher Student Ratio:

  • "Teacher Student Ratio" will be calculated by the college given guidelines prescribed by DCI given unit composition with bed strength.
  • In case PG Seats are decreased due to the non-availability of PG Recognized Teacher, it shall be marked as "©", & non-fulfilment of Unit Criteria will be marked as "#" under the "Max Seats Permitted" column. If any teacher is going to superannuate, the college will ensure that the Guide will be available to the admitted students.
  • In case the PG Seats of any Subject(s) is/are decreased or stopped by the DCI, it shall be marked as a "$" in the "Max Seats Permitted" column & will be submitted along with supporting document(s) of the DCI.
  • In case the DCI restores any subject(s) PG seats, it will be marked as "&" in the "Max Seats Permitted" column & will be submitted along with supporting documents of the DCI.
  • Information on "Recognized" & "Permitted" Seats shall be filled in as per factual status granted by the GOI / DCI.
