MUHS Informs On Surprise Inspection Of Affiliated Dental Colleges For Grant Continuation Of Affiliation For 2023-24

Maharashtra: Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has informed about the surprise inspection of affiliated dental colleges for grant of continuation/extension of affiliation for the academic year 2023-24.
As per the notice, the University has initiated the continuation of affiliation/extension of affiliation (if applicable) of affiliated colleges for the academic year 2023-24. Accordingly, the University has finalized Local Inquiry Committee (LIC) proforma for inspections.
The colleges must go through LIC's inspection proforma and fill up requisite information, including all annexures, for verification by LIC Team. As instructed earlier during inspections for the academic year 2022-23, the colleges have created the ''MUHS Mandate" tab on the homepage of the college website. Colleges must upload information on all annexures on the college website, and the information should be kept year-wise & annexure-wise for 5 years.
The University has taken up a paperless initiative and gearing up for online transmission of question papers & onscreen evaluation of answer books. However, the college must submit hard copies of a few annexures. Annexure I, VIII, IX, X, XV, XVI, XVII, XVIII & XIX to the University. Copies of the rest of the annexures must be uploaded on the respective college website.

MUHS has further notified that it is mandatory for the college to maintain infrastructure, teaching staff, and other requirements as per MSR throughout the year, failing which affiliation granted will be revoked by the University at any stage.
The Dean/Principal of the college must update the college website and keep the information ready for verification by the LIC Team. The inspections will commence from 15.2.2023 onwards. The colleges that fail to update their information on the college website will not be granted affiliation.
Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) is a higher education institution in Nashik, Maharashtra. The University was established on June 3, 1998, by the Government of Maharashtra through an ordinance. The State Legislature passed the ordinance, and the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences was declared open by the governor of Maharashtra on June 10, 1998. All colleges and institutions imparting education in health science in the state of Maharashtra have been affiliated with this new University under Section 6(3) of the Act.
The University was established to ensure proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training, and research in modern medicine and Indian systems of medicine. MUHS offers undergraduate and postgraduate studies, including PhD in all branches of health sciences.
