Madhya Pradesh- The establishment of new medical colleges in five districts of the state has been approved during the recent cabinet meeting led by Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla.
The selected districts for the establishment of these medical colleges are Seoni, Sheopur, Neemuch, Mandsaur, and Singrauli.
In the meeting, an amendment has been made to fill the vacant posts of medical teaching staff through direct recruitment.
This includes the posts of Professor (24), Assistant Professor (between 70 to 75) etc., which will be filled through direct recruitment.
According to the Free Press Journal news report, it has been said that the total number of posts in various categories for the five new medical colleges is 150.

Along with this, the Madhya Pradesh government has also decided to set up multipurpose centres and 194 Anganwadi centres to enhance health facilities in special tribal areas. Each multipurpose centre, with a total cost of Rs 75 crore, will be fully financed by the central government. On this, the state had already sent the proposal of 284 centres to Delhi, out of which 125 centres were approved. Simultaneously, an amount of Rs 15.7 crore has been allocated for Anganwadi centres, with the central government contributing 60% of the cost and the state government covering the remaining 40%.
Apart from this, a decision has been made to establish hostels for boys and girls in backward tribal areas at a cost of Rs 384.6 crore. Moreover, roads will also be built to connect 981 human settlements in special backward tribal areas that are deprived of road facilities. “Even human settlements of 100 people will be connected with roads. In crux, roads having a length of 2404 km will be constructed. A sum of Rs 2454 crore will be spent in this regard in three years”, as per the free Press Journal media news report.
In addition to this, tribals who have not yet benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will also receive a house. In this initiative, beneficiaries will be granted Rs 2 lakh each.
