Maha: Two Medical Officers Arrested For Allegedly Seeking Rs 5000 Bribe

Palghar: Two senior medical officers from Palghar district have been arrested by the Thane unit of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) at Palghar for alleged demand and acceptance of bribe for the issue of post mortem certificate of a dead, the ACB stated in an official release on Monday.,

PI Bharat salunke of Palghar ACB stated in an official release that the duo, a 31-year-old Class-I Medical Officer, and a Superintendent Medical Officer of 26 years of age attached to the RH Manor at Palghar, allegedly made a demand of Rs. 5,000 from the complainant for the issue of Post mortem report of his fathers death.
Later they agreed for a sum of Rs. 4,000 from the complainant and the aggrieved complainant lodged a complaint with the officials of the ACB. The officials laid strap on Monday and arrested the Superintendent Medical Officer accepting the bribe money of Rs. 4,000 on Monday on behalf of the medical officer the release said.
The Palghar ACB are carrying out further probe into the crime registered against the duo under the provisions of the prevention corruption act.
