Mumbai: Following the fire that broke out at the city's mall hospital where ten patients died, Mumbai Civil and Session Court has granted anticipatory bail to HDIL promoters Rakesh, and Sarang Wadhawan in relation to the case.
According to the Sessions court, if they were arrested by the Bhandup police, they would be released on bail by executing a Rs 50,000 personal bond.
team had earlier reported about the incident where nearly 10 patients died due to the fire that broke out at the Sunrise Hospital in the Dreams Mall building in the Bhandup area shortly after midnight. Around 70 patients were rescued.

The hospital was situated on the top floor of the four-storeyed mall building and 76 patients, most of them were getting COVID-19 treatment, were there when the fire broke out. Twenty fire engines, 15 water tankers and ambulances were rushed to the spot and took 12 hours to douse the flames.
The hospital in a statement said, "There was a fire on the first floor of Dreams Mall, Bhandup and the smoke reached up to the Sunrise Hospital located on the top floor. When fire alarms beeped, all patients were safely evacuated to the fire refuge area as the smoke was reaching the hospital."
A probe committee of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) held hospital management and officials of the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) accountable for the fire.
It had recommended cutting the water and power supply of the mall and filing a criminal case against the owners and directors of the commercial establishment and Sunrise Hospital.
It said that the fire spread inside the hospital as none of the firefighting equipment was working on the day of the fire.
BMC said the agency had submitted a report saying that the firefighting equipment of the mall was operational, and all compliances were made for the period between 1 July 2020, and 31 December 2020.
However, on the day of the fire, none of the firefighting equipment was working.
Later, after investigation, the owners of the mall, the Wadhawan father-son duo were booked under sections including 304 (culpable homicide) and 34 (common intent) of the Indian Penal Code along with other accused, The Indian Express reports.
