Maha Cabinet Nod To Expand Govt Cancer Hospital, Aurangabad To 265-Bed Facility

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Cabinet on Wednesday gave its approval for the expansion of Government Medical College and Cancer Hospital at Aurangabad.
As a result, the 100-bed hospital will be expanded to 265 beds at cost of around Rs 25 crore, an official press statement stated.
After being recognized as a State Cancer Institute as per Government Resolution of Oct 15, 2016, GMCCH will provide treatment for cancer patients from Marathwada in Aurangabad itself.

For the expanded facility, 316 regular posts of Group-A to Group-D and 360 posts of 44 external posts will be filled.
The issue was resolved due to repeated follow-up by Aurangabad Guardian Minister Subhash Desai.
For this, Mr Desai held meetings with Health Minister Rajesh Tope and Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh, it was stated.
