Kerala: Well being Minister KK Shailaja has stated that the government is trying to turn the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital into a super specialty hospital.
"It does not matter if a lot of medical colleges are established. We need hospitals with good super specialty facilities. The government has been able to bring three super specialties to the District General Hospitals: Cardiology, Neurology, and Nephrology," the minister stated.
This will make it possible to get specialist treatment without going to medical college. In addition to these three super specialties, urology departments have been set up at Thiruvananthapuram General Hospitals. The minister said that a waiting lab has been set up here at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore as part of the preparation of super-specialty facilities.
An administrative sanction of Rs 143.06 crores has been given for the first phase of the master plan for the development of the General Hospital. The first phase of development includes the Outpatient Department, Trauma & Emergency Department, Radiology, Lab, Blood Bank and Service Block. The plan has been submitted to Kifby for technical approval and financial approval after the Technical Committee. As this becomes a reality, there will be a big change in the general hospital.

Forgetting party politics, everyone is working together for the development of the General Hospital. Complaints about the General Hospital are now very rare. Working as a good team has enabled us to reduce the number of complaints by providing better service. The General Hospital has also rendered commendable service in the defense of Kovid.
This government has made a significant difference in the health sector since its inception. Not only basic systems but also treatment systems have undergone major changes. We have been able to do amazingly great things in the health sector. In order to give better treatment to the poor. Private hospitalization is a huge expense. The poor can't afford it. That is why the government decided to make hospitals better. This change can be seen from primary health centers to medical colleges. In spite of all the difficulties, Kovid was able to provide free treatment during his tenure.
The state has won numerous awards for outstanding work by health workers. Kerala also has the top 12 family health centers in the country. U.N. for lifestyle disease control. The Minister said that Kerala has received the award and the India Today award for Kovid defense.
