Jaipur: An Indian medical student pursuing MBBS in Dhaka's Medical College has been found dead recently undermysterious circumstances. The deceased was identified as a19-year-oldMBBS studentat Dhaka's Ad-Din Momin Medical College. According to reports, her body was found in her hostel room on Saturday. Initial speculation suggested it could be a case of suicide, though the Bangladesh police have not confirmed the cause of death. The college administration has not given a statement on the matter. Some have questioned the alleged silence of the Dhaka college's officials. Dhaka Police stated that the student had taken an exam on Saturday and was expelled after being caught cheating. Chief Syed Md Akhtar said, "The college authorities told us that she was expelled after being caught cheating." According to Akhtar, the student may have died by suicide after being expelled over cheating in exam. A post-mortem was conducted at the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. According to Akhtar, the Indian embassy has been notified to facilitate the process of returning the body to India. Back at Khan's hometown in Rajasthan, gloom hung in the air as the entire village mourned over the loss. The family is trying to bring her body to India as soon as possible. The All India Medical Students' Association (AIMSA) has asked the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to intervene in the matter. AIMSA vice president Dr Mohammad Momin Khan in a letter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar requested for the government's help in bringing the student's body home from Dhaka. Her friends said she was a promising and lively student. They alleged she was not someone who would die by suicide.
