Guj: PM Modi To Inaugurate 800 Bedded UN Mehta Heart Hospital Building On March 22

Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is like to visit Ahmedabad to inaugurate a new hospital building on March 22, a senior doctor of the facility informed the media persons on Friday.
The prime minister will commission an 800-bed facility of the U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre (UNMICRC), popularly known as UN Mehta Heart Hospital, on March 22, said its Director Dr RK Patel.
The U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre (UNMICRC) is a grant-in-aid autonomous institute promoted by the Government of Gujarat as a public trust. The Institute is affiliated to the BJ Medical College- Medicity, Civil Hospital Campus, Asarwa, Ahmedabad, which is a Government Medical College.
The existing 450-bed facility is a grant-in-aid autonomous institute- cum-hospital promoted by the Gujarat government as a public trust, providing cardiac care to the poor, and is situated on the campus of the civil hospital here.
"Now, a new 800-bed hospital has been built near the present building. After its inauguration by the PM on March 22, the strength of the hospital will be over 1,200 beds,"
In terms of academics, U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre (UNMICRC) offers 12 seats of D. M. (Cardiology) Super specialty course in affiliation with B.J.Medical College, Gujarat University. The 12 Seats are recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI) and all seats are on merit base through NEET without any donation. Besides, it also offers 6 seats in Mch CTVS and 6 seats in DM (Cardiac Anaesthesia)
It also offers a series of paramedical course in the field of cardiac, including those of cath lab assistant, ECG holter TMT assistant, echocardiogram assistant and many more.
