Hyderabad: Tragedy struck near Medchal when a 19-year-old B.Pharm student lost his life after his two-wheeler collided with a dump truck at the Medchal toll plaza late on Thursday night. The victim, who was a first-year student at the Government Pharmacy College, Medchal, was riding home when the accident took place. His friend riding pillion sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to police, the dump truck was stationary at the toll-plaza when Ashwin Kumar's bike collided from behind. The impact was so severe that Ashwin was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. The friend, whose name has not been disclosed yet, is reported to be in stable condition under treatment. Investigators revealed that the dump truck driver has been taken into custody for questioning and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law. The college principal and classmates paid tribute, describing him as a cheerful student with a bright future.
