Dr Avinash Bhondwe Elected As IMA'S College Of General Practitioners National Dean

Mumbai: Dr. Avinash Bhondwe has been elected as the Dean, of the IMA-CGP, Indian Medical Association's College of General Practitioners. Dr Bhondwe is from Pune and he was the former president of IMA-Maharashtra. IMA-CGP is the oldest wing of IMA for medical academic knowledge.
He accepted the reigns of his post in New Delhi, at the hands of Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Hon'ble Mr.Ashwini Kumar Choubey and newly elected National President of IMA, Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh.

I.M.A. College of General Practitioners is the oldest wing of IMA for medical Academic knowledge. IMA-CGP has its state chapters in all the states and Union Territories of India and a total of 1000 sub-faculties in all the local branches of IMA in the country. IMA- CGP operates under IMA's National Office in New Delhi and has its headquartered in Chennai (Tamil Nadu).
The College of General Practitioners is dedicated to impart basic knowledge of all branches of medical sciences to the doctors of the country. It also keeps its members up to date with the latest developments in medical knowledge, new medicine new treatments. Moreover, it works to develop various skills among the members regarding medical treatment. It conducts a post Graduate Fellowship Course at National Level and conducts an examination, FCGP.
During his tenure, Dr. Avinash Bhondwe plans to educate the lay people, about day-to-day health, newer aspects in Medicine and appropriate preventive measures. To educate the masses this job will be carried out by means of articles in the Newspapers, IMA-CGP's own online magazines and informative audiovisuals on the social media. The said health awareness campaign will be disseminated in all the states of India in the regional languages of the respective States and UTs. Leading medical experts across the country will provide written and audio-visual presentations to the common people.
Commenting on his future plans, Dr. Bhondwe added, " Special efforts will be made to attract today's new generation of doctors to work as family doctors and to provide high-quality services to the common Indian people through Post Graduate degrees and Diplomas in Family medicine, approved by the Medical Councils. The special courses are planned for MRCP in Family Medicine."
