Doctor Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Poisoning Wife
A court in Raisen has sentenced a 38-year-old doctor to life imprisonment for poisoning his wife to death over dowry.
Additional District Judge (ADJ) Ramesh Sahu awarded life imprisonment to Ajay Chandel for killing his wife Neetu by giving her a poisonous injection, according to prosecution officer Pawan Choubey.
Neetu was Chandel’s third wife.
Choubey stated that Ajay injected Neetu, who was 30 years old, with poison after his demand for a Rs 5 lakh dowry was not met. This incident occurred on December 25, 2011, about 18 months after their marriage.
He added that Ajay’s previous wives had also died.
