DME Tamil Nadu Begins Refund Process For MBBS, BDS Courses 2022-23

Tamil Nadu: The Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) has begun refunding candidates for undergraduate MBBS/BDS courses 2022-2023. The final list of eligible candidates for refund in the government quota has also been released.
As per the notice, the refund portal will remain open till 9.2.2023 up to 5.00 pm. The candidates must log in through their original login ID (used at the time of application). Those eligible for a refund will only be able to log in.
The candidates must enter details, including the Name of the Account Holder, Bank Account No., IFS Code and Name of the Bank etc., in the appropriate column. If the candidate accepts the indicated refund amount, they have to click on the check box “Correct”, thereby confirming their acceptance of the refund amount. Any change in a claim later will not be entertained. If the candidate does not agree on the refund amount, they have to click on the check box “In-correct” and enter the relevant information in the remark column with the transaction ID.

The candidates note that application fees & processing fees are non-refundable. Those who discontinued/did not join the allotted course during or after Round II of UG allotment has forfeited their tuition fee and Security deposit as per Govt. prospectus clause 14 III (g) & Management quota prospectus of clause 12 III (g). Hence, they are not eligible for a refund.
For candidates who have joined the course, their fees will be transferred to the respective institutions; for candidates who have moved from one category to another, the fee difference only, if any, will be refunded to the individual candidates.

The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centres with State of the art equipment and technology.
