Assam: The Director of Medical Education (DME Assam) has announced the counselling schedule for FMGs & Non-FMGs for undergoing a one-year compulsory rural posting under NHM, Assam.

The list of places of posting available to the candidates in order of merit will be published on the official website of this Directorate (www.dme.assam.gov.in) on the evening of 29th May 2023, along with the final merit list of candidates. The candidates shall refer to the Instructions to Candidates uploaded in NHM, Assam website.

The candidates who are permanent residents of Assam, who have passed their MBBS degree from outside the state of Assam (FMG's & Non-FMG's), and who are otherwise eligible as per "The Medical Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into Post Graduate Degree and Diploma courses) Rules, 2021 and are willing to undergo one-year rural posting under National Health Mission, Assam can are only eligible.
The Directorate of Medical Education, Assam, Training and Research, Assam was established in 1984 under the control of the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam. It promotes expertise in medical science in different streams like Allopathic, Ayurvedic, and Homoeopathic medicine and paramedical science, and health care facilities to the people of Assam through different hospitals under the Directorate. It promotes research in medical science in the state of Assam, develops and sustains medical education through proper planning, and develops human resources in medical science through different institutions under it. It also has administrative control of the Undergraduate, Post-graduate Degree/Diploma, and Post Doctoral courses of various Health Educational Institutions under this Directorate.
