BFUHS Gives Deadline To NEET Counselling Candidates Who Wish To Surrender Their Seats, Check Details

Faridkot: Through a recent notice, the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) which is conducting the counselling for NEET 2024 admissions has informed about the deadline for surrender of seats by candidates who have joined the allotted Round-I & II Joined seats and wish to resign with forfeiture of security fee.
As per the schedule of All India Quota Counseling, the date of declaration of the result of Round III is fixed as 11.10.2024, the notice mentioned.
In its notice, the university stated that the NEET UG-2024 aspirants who have joined the allotted seat of Round-I and II and intends to surrender the seat can surrender/resign his/her seat upto 12.10.2024 (till 04:00 PM) with the forfeiture of security fee i.e. following penalty equivalent to the security amount:

The Interested candidate will have to submit an application of surrendering the seat to the Principal of the concerned college to enable him to surrender the seat on the portal so that the vacancy for Round 3 will get updated automatically, otherwise, the candidate will be considered as joined, added the notice.
Recently, the authorities at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) asked the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to crosscheck the genuineness of the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificates issued to around 10 candidates, who want to get admitted to the the MBBS course at government medical colleges in the State.
This came after, allegations were made that MBBS aspirants were using "dubious" EWS certificates for securing their MBBS admission at three government medical colleges.
These three government medical colleges are located in Amritsar, Faridkot, and Patiala and they offer 50 MBBS seats for the EWS candidates.
According to the existing rules candidates deemed to be eligible under the EWS category must be from a family with an income less than Rs 8 lakh per annum. The district administration issues the EWS certificates after verifying the annual income and landholding in the name of the candidate's parents.
