Apollo Becomes First Hospital In India To Use Tubeless VATS Technique To Treat Cancer

Chennai: For the first time in India, new tubeless video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) technique was used to successfully treat lung cancer patients from Bangladesh.

Doctors from Apollo Cancer Centre performed the surgery and confirmed the recovery of the patient.
"We have successfully done India's first same sitting bilateral VATS for our patient from Bangladesh," said Dr. Abhijit Das, Consultant Thoracic Oncologist, Apollo Hospitals.
