35-year-old doctor killed in road accident while returning from duty

Hyderabad:A 35-year-old generalphysicianassociated with KIMS-Sunshine Hospital tragically lost his life in the early hours of Sunday following aroad accidentat Greenlands, Panjagutta. He was returning from duty, riding as a pillion passenger on a motorbike, when a sand-laden 16-wheeler lorry struck the vehicle from behind. The road at the accident spot is about 30 feet wide with a divider. The bike was moving at a normal speed, police said. Shankar claimed he sounded the horn while overtaking the two-wheeler. The 38-year-old lorry driver hailing from Peddakottapally village in Nagarkurnool district has been taken into custody by the police. G. Naresh Kumar, sub-inspector and investigating officer, reported that the driver, who was returning after dumping sand, was subjected to a breath analyzer test, which yielded a negative result for alcohol.
