3-Year-Old Dies At Bengaluru Hospital, Family Alleges Medical Negligence

Bengaluru: Allegations of Medical Negligence at Bangalore Baptist Hospital

The parents of a three-year-old filed a police complaint against Bangalore Baptist Hospital in Karnataka's Hebbal region, alleging medical negligence after the toddler passed away at the hospital on Wednesday, 26th April 2023.

The toddler, who was suffering from fever, was first taken to Shushrusha Hospital in Yelahanka on Wednesday afternoon. The child underwent treatment there for around an hour.

However, the doctors at the Yelahanka hospital suggested the parents take the toddler to the Bangalore Baptist Hospital in Hebbal.

On Wednesday evening, the parents took the child to the Hebbal hospital, where the latter passed away. The doctors informed the parents about the child's death at around 9 pm.

The parents of the three-year-old subsequently filed a police complaint at the Hebbal police station alleging that the medical negligence of the doctors at the hospital caused their child's death, reports News9 live.

The police said that they are currently investigating the case.

Incident at RA Podar Ayurved Medical College

Meanwhile, the team had last reported that a 22-year-old student studying at RA Podar Ayurved Medical College in Worli died after falling from a tree while trying to pluck mangoes on Wednesday night. He suffered from serious head injuries and was rushed to the institution’s hospital, where he died. The official said the deceased, hailing from Osmanabad district, was a third-year BAMS student at the medical college. Some college students alleged that he died due to negligence in treatment. The angry students closed the hospital’s Outpatient Department (OPD) and demanded action against the persons concerned. The Worli police have registered an accidental death report and a probe was underway into the student’s death. A high-level committee of the institute will investigate the matter and a report is expected in 10 days.
