According to the police, the student went to visit his female friend pursuing BDS in the afternoon. After talking to her for a while, he went inside the bathroom. However, when he did not come back for long, she knocked on the door but there was no response.
She then informed the police. According to a recent media report in The Pioneer, the medico was eventually found hanging inside the bathroom and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.
No suicide note was found from the spot. So far, no reason has been revealed in the investigation which could be attributed to the suicide. The student used to stay at Kolar, and had come to his friend's house on Saturday, where he had allegedly hung himself.
The Pioneer reports that the students of his college would be questioned for further investigation. The police would also be searching the call record details and other information to figure out the reason behind the suicide.
The team had earlier reported about a similar incident where a second year postgraduate medical student had died by suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan inside her hostel room of Midnapore Medical college. She was pursuing MD in pediatrics and was a resident of Kandi in Murshidabad..
