Mumbai: Threats to HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and Mukesh Ambani

For threatening to blow up HN Reliance Foundation Hospital as well as industrialist Mukesh Ambani's residence 'Antilia', a man from Bihar has now been arrested by the police.

According to police officials, a threat call was received at 12:57 pm at the landline number of Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital from an unidentified number. The caller threatened to blow up the hospital and also issued life threats to Mukesh Ambani and his family.

The Mumbai police have arrested a man from Bihar in connection with anonymous calls threatening to target industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his family members, an official said on Thursday.

A police team picked up the suspect, Rakesh Kumar Mishra, from Darbhanga district around Wednesday midnight and he was brought here on Thursday, he said.

Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital at Girgaon in south Mumbai had received two calls on Wednesday, wherein the unidentified caller threatened to blow up the hospital along with Ambani's residence 'Antilia' in south Mumbai. The caller also issued threats to the industrialist and his family members, officials had said.

Mishra was produced before a court here, which remanded him in police custody till Monday, he said.

This is the second such threat call issued to the Ambani family and HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in a matter of few months. A team had earlier reported that in the month of August, a man made a phone call to a hospital in Mumbai and threatened to kill the family of industrialist Mukesh Ambani. Mumbai Police arrested the caller, namely Mumbai-based Bishnu Vidu Bhowmik, and preliminary enquiry suggested the caller was mentally unstable. He made nine calls between 10:39 am and 12:04 pm from his personal phone on eight different numbers.
