165 medical shops licences suspended, seven cancelled in Telangana after Abortion kits raids

Telangana: The Drugs Control Administration, Telangana has cracked down on the illegal sale of abortion and medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) kits, suspending the licences of 165 medical shops and cancelling those of seven more following a series of statewide raids. A total of 809 inspections were carried out between August 22 and September 15, 2025, covering medical shops and the premises of quacks/unqualified practitioners.
