12713 Medical Grads, 2,086 FMGs Granted Permanent Registration By Rajasthan Medical Council In Last 3 Years, Reveals RTI

Jaipur: In the last three years, the Rajasthan Medical Council (RMC) granted permanent registration to 7789 medical graduates who completed their education in Rajasthan, 4,924 graduates from other Indian states, and 2,086 foreign medical graduates (FMGs).
The medical council revealed this in response to a Right to Information (RTI) application filed by Dr Lakshya Mittal, National President of the United Doctors Front Association regarding the total number of MBBS graduates who received the registration certificate from the council from January 1, 2022 to August 14, 2024.
In the RTI application, Dr. Mittal aimed to verify the August data, indicating that approximately 12,710 MBBS graduates and 2,072 FMGs obtained permanent registration from the RMC over the past three years.
Further, the RTI also sought clarification on specific criteria or requirements for medical graduates from other states and FMGs seeking permanent registration in Rajasthan. It also sought details regarding the verification process for medical graduates from other states.
In response, the RMC said that they are the appropriate authority to set such criteria. However, the Department of Information Technology (DOIT) and Rajasthan State Information Services Limited (RISL) are responsible for facilitating the registration process through IT applications.
Questioning the verification process of the council, Dr Mittal has demanded an impartial investigation into the case explaining the data provided by the council.
Taking the matter to popular social media platform 'X', Dr Mittal said in a post sharing the images of the RTI responses, "Serious disclosure of registration of fake doctors under RMC in last 3 years. 4924 other states and 2086 FMGs got permanent registration (RTI). This big fraud has come to light due to flaws in the verification process. We demand an impartial investigation into this scam."
