11,400 new MBBS seats this year, total 1,28,925: NMC further updates seat matrix, check details

New Delhi:The National Medical Commission (NMC) has further updated the MBBS seat matrix for the academic year 2025-26. The newly updated seat matrix has been released on the official website of NMC. The seat matrix, published by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB), includes details of newly approved colleges, additional seats sanctioned, and renewals for existing MBBS programs. According to the recent updated MBBS seat matrix, a total of 128925 seats are available this year across 819 medical colleges, including the 11400MBBSseats that the Commission approved this year. Prior to this, a total of 126725 MBBS seats were reported available across 813 medical colleges, including the 9200 MBBS seats that the NMC approved; last year, the Commission granted permission for 117750. According to the DME Chhattisgarh notice, as per the first appeal, issued by the Coordination Division of the NMC, and based on the updated MBBS seat matrix issued by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB), NMC, the MBBS seats of Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhilai (CG) have been increased.
